Governor Felicitates Mizoram NCC Cadets for Participation in National Level Camps

Aizawl, the 3rd March, 2026: Mizoram Governor General (Dr) Vijay Kumar Singh, PVSM, AVSM, YSM (Retd), today hosted a felicitation ceremony for 19 NCC cadets from the state who participated in various national level camps. The event was held this morning at Durbar Hall, Lok Bhavan. Chief Minister Pu Lalduhoma, Sports & Youth Services Minister Pu Lalnghinglova Hmar and Lt Col Clement Lalhmingthanga (Retd), MLA also attended the programme.

Speaking at a felicitation ceremony, the Governor General (Dr) Vijay Kumar Singh described the recent establishment of the newly raised NCC Group Headquarters in Aizawl as a landmark and highly encouraging step forward. He noted that, with this development, all NCC units across Mizoram are now functioning smoothly and efficiently under unified command. He voiced confidence that the strengthened institutional framework would attract greater participation from the state’s youth in the days ahead. The Governor specially commended the 19 NCC cadets from Mizoram who secured selection to various prestigious national-level camps following an intensely competitive and rigorous nationwide screening process. He described their achievement as a brilliant demonstration of dedication and excellence, stating that their place among the country’s top cadets serves as compelling evidence of their tireless effort, exemplary discipline, and resolute commitment.

Drawing from his personal experience, the Governor fondly recalled attending the inaugural NCC Advanced Leadership Camp in 1965. He shared with the cadets that the memories of such camps—the camaraderie built, the lessons learned, and the values absorbed—remain indelibly etched in one’s heart throughout life. “These formative experiences forge strong character and instil enduring leadership qualities that accompany you forever,” he said. He further described the privilege of marching on the Kartavya Path as one of the most cherished dreams and proudest honours cherished by every NCC cadet.

Looking ahead, the Governor conveyed his keen personal interest in the early introduction of a Naval Wing, which would serve as the third arm under the NCC Group Headquarters in Aizawl. He highlighted that Mizoram is well endowed with sufficient geographical space, motivated young people, and other essential resources to make this expansion viable and successful. He formally directed the Group Commander to pursue the proposal with vigour and secure its realisation at the earliest possible opportunity. The Governor expressed heartfelt gratitude to the parents, committed instructors, and NCC officers whose steadfast guidance, encouragement, and support had been instrumental in enabling the cadets to reach this level of accomplishment. In conclusion, he urged the felicitated cadets—and indeed all NCC members—to remain unwavering in their adherence to the core values of discipline, integrity, selfless service, and devoted loyalty to the nation.

During the event, the Governor and Chief Minister presented mementos and certificates to the NCC cadets who participated in the national level camps and interacted with them warmly, inquiring about their experiences.

In the recently concluded national level camps, Mizoram was represented by 19 cadets: 2 from 20 Mizo Bn. NCC, 1 from 1 Mizo Bn. NCC, 8 from 1 Mizo Air Sqn NCC, and 8 from 2 Mizo Bn. NCC. Among them, 4 cadets participated in the Republic Day Camp (RDC), 1 in the All India Thal Sainik Camp (AITSC), 5 in the All India Vayu Sainik Camp (AIVSC) and Air Force NCC Central Camp, and 9 in the Special National Integration Camp (SNIC).

The programme was also attended by Brig GS Arora, Group Commander, NCC Mizoram; other dignitaries; NCC officers and family members of the cadets.
