Bihar was carved out of the Bengal Presidency and came into existence on March 22, 1912. Rajasthan was formed on March 30, 1949, by the integration of the princely states of Jodhpur, Jaipur, Bikaner, and Jaisalmer, and was initially known as Greater Rajasthan. Odisha, which was earlier part of Bihar, attained full statehood on April 1, 1936. It is recognised as one of the earliest states formed on linguistic lines in India. Himachal Pradesh was constituted as a Part C State under the Indian Union on April 15, 1948, and was granted full statehood on January 25, 1971.
The ‘Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat’ programme seeks to strengthen bonds among the people of India’s diverse states and Union Territories through cultural exchange, promoting greater understanding and appreciation of each region’s unique traditions, languages, and lifestyles.
