Aizawl, the 15th June, 2026: Mizoram Governor, General (Dr) Vijay Kumar Singh, PVSM, AVSM, YSM (Retd), has extended warm greetings to the Young Mizo Association (YMA) and all its members on the 91st Foundation Day.

Describing YMA as the largest socio-cultural and voluntary organisation in Mizoram, the Governor General (Dr) Vijay Kumar Singh said that since its inception, the organisation has been at the forefront of community service. He commended YMA for its consistent efforts in helping the needy, preserving and promoting Mizo culture, tradition and heritage, and for providing valuable support to the Government in successfully implementing various initiatives with wide outreach.

On this occasion, the Governor called upon the people of Mizoram to uphold the cherished Mizo value of Tlawmngaihna – the spirit of selflessness, compassion and voluntary service – in all their actions. He also appealed to the people to promote unity among different sections of society, respect our elders, remain rooted in our rich cultural heritage, stay away from drugs and substance abuse, and strengthen the collective fight against this menace, particularly to secure a bright future for the youth.

The Governor expressed confidence that YMA will continue to work in close cooperation with the Government and various sections of society for the progress and welfare of the people of Mizoram and the nation.
