IRCON International Project Head briefs Governor on progress of Kaladan road project
Aizawl, the 5 October, 2026: Mr. Sanjay Tripathi, Project Head, Myanmar Branch, IRCON International Ltd., today called on Mizoram Governor General (Dr) Vijay Kumar Singh, PVSM, AVSM, YSM (Retd), at Lok Bhavan, Aizawl and briefed him on the progress, challenges and the way forward for the 109.2 km road being constructed between Paletwa and Zorinpui under the Kaladan Multi-Modal Transit Transport Project (KMMTTP).
Governor General (Dr) Vijay Kumar Singh stated that the Kaladan Multi-Modal Transit Transport Project is an important initiative of the Central Government and must be given top priority. He noted that the project has been delayed for a long time and cannot be delayed any further. He stressed that all possible efforts must be made to complete it successfully. He directed that maximum progress should be achieved in the next working season. He also asked to be informed of any difficulties and assured his full support to ensure the project is completed as soon as possible.
Mr. Sanjay Tripathi, through a PowerPoint presentation, apprised the Governor of the progress achieved so far on the Paletwa-Zorinpui stretch, the road ahead, the challenges and other important issues. He reported that the overall status of the work stands at 25 per cent physical progress and 30 per cent financial progress.
