Governor Dr. Hari Babu Kambhampati visits a newly constructed 100 bedded Hospital of RIPANS and other infrastructures in the Campus
Aizawl, the 22nd July 2024: Governor Dr Hari Babu Kambhampati visited the Regional Institute of Paramedical and Nursing Sciences (RIPANS).
On his arrival at the campus, the Governor supported by Dr Sanjay D Sawant, Director and his colleagues, inspected various sections and wards inside the newly constructed 100 bedded RIPANS Hospital. The RIPANS faculty were very positive about the hospital to actually start operational by the end of this year. In this connection, they requested the MPWD for improvement of the approach road. They also cited their requirement of supports from PHED and P&E Departments for power supply and water supply, without which a hospital of this size might not be possible to operate.
Governor Dr Hari Babu Kambhampati also inspected other important infrastructures of the campus such as Med Supdt Quaters, Doctors Quarters, Staff Nurse Quarters, Indoor Sports Complex & Auditorium, General Hostel, Guest House and Academic Building Block – IV.
After the inspection, in behalf of the esteemed visitor, the RIPANS organised a short official meeting at Conference Hall, RIPANS. The meeting started with a welcome address by Dr Sanjay D Sawant, Director. Dr Ruby Z Ralte , Administrative Officer presented a brief but detailed overview of RIPANS which consists of programs and courses offered, major infrastructures, faculty, social contributions and other major initiatives in the pipeline.
In this meeting, Governor Dr Hari Babu Kambhampati addressed the officials of RIPANS by congratulating on their speedy progress of infrastructural development within the campus. He was particularly glad to learn that a 100 bedded Hospital with the promise of developing into a top national level multi-speciality hospital like AIMS here in Mizoram. The Governor was also happy that this RIPANS Hospital, expected to be fully functional in the early next year, would add more quality of services in the healthcare sector to not only for Mizoram but for the whole Northeast region.
RIPANS, established in 1995-96 under NEC was transferred to Ministry of H&FW on 1st April 2007. It is now, the only institute under the administrative control of Ministry of H&FW. More details about the institute can be had from its website : https://ripans.ac.in
