    Aizawl, the 25th February 2022: Governor Hari Babu Kambhampati had interaction with Prof R.P.Vadhera, Vice Chancellor and Dr David Lawmzuala, Registrar, ICFAI University, Mizoram at the Raj Bhavan, today.

    During his interaction with the ICFAI Mizoram Officials, Governor Hari Babu Kambhampati enquired about the administrative set-up, the courses offered, the fee structure. And also asked the background and outcomes of the unfortunate campus riot that happened a few years ago and whether that has been resolved or not. On learning the unfortunate issues within the campus had been amicably resolved; Governor Hari Babu expressed his satisfaction and urged the administration of the university to always ensure a peaceful and encouraging atmosphere for learning within the campus. He expressed his appreciation of the ICFAI, the only private University in Mizoram for opening the door of opportunities in the field of professional as well as vocational education for the youth of Mizoram. He also agreed with Prof R.P.Vadhera that Mizoram needs more science teachers at the High School level. Governor felt that the production of science graduates per year in Mizoram is still very low compared to other states and needed to be improved urgently.

    Prof R.P.Vadhera, Vice-Chancellor gave a PowerPoint presentation of the ICFAI University, Mizoram with a special reference to the progress, vision, mission and objectives of the university. As per the presentation, the ICFAI University Mizoram aimed to provide excellent education with a special focus on professional courses to the youth of Mizoram. At present, 556 students are enrolled; out of these 89 are undergraduates while 467 are PG students.

    As per the presentation, ICFAI Mizoram aims for Accreditation of the University by NAAC Bangalore by 2025. The University is preparing for Participation in the NIRF ranking by 2023. The University is also planning to introduce more professional degree, diploma certificate courses like Big Data, Cloud Computing, Cyber Security, Design Thinking, Digital Marketing, Fundamentals of Programming, Data Analytics, Internet of Things Business Analytics, Machine Learning and Deep Learning Data Science. Diploma and certificate courses in Paramedical Medical Sciences like Radiologist Assistant, Medical Laboratory Assistant, Operation Theatre Assistant, Nursing Care Assistant, ECG Assistant, Dental Assistant, Ophthalmic Technician, CT Scan Technician, Dialysis Assistants, ECG Assistants, MRI Technicians and CT Scan Technicians etc., will also be offered. Introduction of D.P.Ed. and B.P.Ed. programmes that are not being offered by any institution in Mizoram is also being considered. The University is also introducing Ph.D. Programmes in selected subjects from 2022 academic Session.
