Mizoram At The Live Screening of Prime Ministers Address On Pariksha Pe Charcha

Aizawl, the 10th February, 2025: Governor Gen (Dr) Vijay Kumar Singh, PVSM, AVSM, YSM (Retd) led the virtual participation of Mizoram in the 8th edition of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi’s address to the nation through the Pariksha Pe Charcha (PPC), 2025 held at the Sunder Garden in Delhi, today.

This program, designed not only for students preparing for exams but also for parents and teachers, marks the 8th edition of the event with over 5 crore participants this year, making it the largest edition so far. In Mizoram, students, parents, teachers and school education officials joined the event through a video conference led by the Governor at the SCERT Auditorium & Conference Hall, Chaltlang in Aizawl. After the program, the Governor personally interacted with the students, offering them encouragement and guidance on effectively handling exam preparation and important life skills.

In his opening address, Governor Gen (Dr) Vijay Kumar Singh, PVSM, AVSM, YSM (Retd) underscored that every child has unique potential and should not be compared with others. To overcome the stress relating to the examination, he urged parents and teachers to support students in managing exam stress effectively by guiding them positively rather than pressuring them. To prepare well for exams, he stressed the importance of mental and physical well-being, along with proper diet and a conducive study environment. He advised students to manage their time wisely and plan effectively for each subject and in this connection, he encouraged parents to be more understanding and supportive. He also urged both parents and teachers to communicate effectively with students in a way that fosters motivation rather than stress.

The Governor also briefly spoke about how this national program began, introducing to the students how the Prime Minister of India is deeply concerned with the students dealing with the stress of exams and how he went about intervening in this serious matter. In dealing with the stress relating to exams, he emphasized that exam marks alone do not determine a student’s worth or future, instead the good character, strong skills and a well-balanced life are far more valuable in the long run, he added. He also praised the Prime Minister’s initiative of Pariksha Pe Charcha designed to relieve tension among students. He encourage the gathering to apply the lessons and insights gained from the Pariksha Pe Charcha program in a meaningful way to better navigate their academic journey and personal growth.

Before the live telecast segment where the Prime Minister gave his address, a short official function was held wherein Pu David Lalthantluanga, Special Secretary of the School Education Department delivered the keynote address. Following this, SCERT Director Pi Caroline Zoramthangi, who is also the Nodal Officer for Pariksha Pe Charcha (PPC), shared insights about the program. To make it more fruitful, Lalhriathlui, a Class 12 student from St. Paul’s HSS, who had represented Mizoram at the PPC training program in New Delhi from January 24-28, shared her experiences with the attendees. After this, participants watched the interactive session between the Prime Minister and students. Pu C. Lalthanzira, State Project Director of Samagra Shiksha, Mizoram delivered a vote of thanks and concluded the programme.
