Governor to Grace State Level Celebrations of Janjatiya Gaurav Varsh 2025
Aizawl, the 13th November, 2025: To mark the 150th birth anniversary of the iconic tribal leader Bhagwan Birsa Munda, who played a pivotal role in India’s freedom struggle, Mizoram will observe the ‘Janjatiya Gaurav Varsh’ across the state with a grand celebration on Friday, November 14, 2025. The main event, organised by the Planning & Programme Implementation Department, will be held at the Raj Bhavan Circular Lawn, commencing at 10:00 AM. The celebrations will be inaugurated by Mizoram Governor, General (Dr) Vijay Kumar Singh, PVSM, AVSM, YSM (Retd), as the chief guest.
The occasion will pay solemn floral tribute to Bhagwan Birsa Munda and the brave tribal heroes of Mizoram. The programme will feature thoughtful reflections on the significance of Janjatiya Gaurav Varsh, enchanting performances of traditional Mizo dances and soulful songs, and the unveiling of a dedicated Tribal Freedom Fighter Wall.
Visitors are invited to explore vibrant stalls showcasing exquisite local crafts, handlooms, and authentic culinary delights, along with an Innovation Exhibition. All stalls and exhibitions will remain open to the public on Friday and Saturday throughout the day.
The event promises to be a vibrant celebration of tribal heritage, pride, and enduring contributions to the nation.
