Leaders of Mizoram Upa Pawl Call On Governor

Aizawl, the 29th January, 2025: Leaders of Mizoram Upa Pawl (MUP), an association of elderly citizens in Mizoram, led by MUP Gen. Hqrs. President Pu Nghaklianmawia called on the Governor Gen (Dr) VK Singh, PVSM, AVSM, YSM (Retd) at Raj Bhavan, today.

In this courtesy meeting, MUP leaders congratulated and expressed besh wishes to the Governor. They highlighted various concerns related to the welfare of senior citizens. Apart from this, they also discussed important matters related to the development of Mizoram.

Pu Virendra Kumar Jakhar, Executive Director of the NHIDCL Regional Office, also met the Governor to discuss various NHIDCL projects in Mizoram. The Governor emphasized the need for timely and efficient completion of NHIDCL’s projects in the state. In particular, the Governor stressed the importance of speeding up the construction of Sairang-Silchar National Highway, which is the lifeline of the state and urged the NHIDCL to prioritise this particular road.
