Mizoram Governor felicitates meritorious personnel of Assam Rifles with Governor’s Gold & Silver Medals at the Investiture Ceremony 2024
Aizawl, the 13th December, 2024: Mizoram Governor Dr. Hari Babu Kambhampati felicitated the 35 personnel of Assam Rifles selected for their exceptional performance while on duties with Governor’s Gold and Silver Medals at the Investiture Ceremony 2024, organised by the Assam Rifles, under the aegis of Inspector General Assam Rifles (East), at the Circular Lawn, Raj Bhavan, today.
In his felicitation address, Governor Dr. Hari Babu Kambhampati expressed his appreciation for the investiture ceremony honoring the personnel of the Assam Rifles. He mentioned that it was an honor to participate in such a significant occasion and highlighted that the Assam Rifles is one of India’s oldest paramilitary forces, renowned for their service and known as the ‘Friends of the Hill People’ due to the tremendous work done for the safety and welfare of the local people.
He particularly applauded the contributions of the 23 Sector Assam Rifles for their outstanding efforts in fighting against drug menace, the seizures of contraband items and drugs worth several crores. Apart from this, the Governor also lauded their achievements in recovering arms consignments and apprehending some insurgents in recent times as well. He acknowledged the AR’s exceptional efforts in fostering development and supporting the public welfare through their Civil Action Projects.
The Governor expressed deep appreciation for the Assam Rifles personnel who received the meritorious awards for their exemplary achievements while carrying out their duties, their families and associates for their unwavering support, the prestigious Governor’s Gold and Silver Medals are awarded exclusively to most deserving and meritorious personnel of the Assam Rifles, he added. He encouraged the award recipients to continue their dedicated service with steadfast commitment and to use their achievements as an inspiration for even greater service to the nation.
At the investiture ceremony, the Governor presented Governor’s Gold & Silver Medals to 35 personnel of the Assam Rifles which included 15 Gold Medals and 20 Silver Medals for the year 2024.
The Investiture ceremony was attended by Brigadier Girish Upadhya, SM, VSM, DIG, 23 Sector Assam Rifles and all ranks of the Assam Rifles.
