    Aizawl, the 4th March, 2025: Mizoram Governor General (Dr) Vijay Kumar Singh, PVSM, AVSM, YSM (Retd) inaugurated the 15th edition of the Geospatial World-organized Indo-Pacific GeoIntelligence Forum 2025, today at Hotel Vivanta, Dwarka, New Delhi.

    In his address, Governor General (Dr) Vijay Kumar Singh emphasized the significance of the region and said that, “Indo-Pacific region is not only a key hub for global trade and economic growth but also a focal point form emerging geopolitical and security challenges”. While stressing the importance of Indo-pacific for the world, Gen (Dr) VK Singh noted that Geospatial technology and GeoIntelligence are indispensable tools in shaping strategic decision making, enhancing national security and fostering regional cooperation. Safeguarding geospatial data from cyber threats is vital, as more of our GeoIntelligence system rely on cloud computing and interconnected data servers, he added. He further stated that the Indo-Pacific region is a strategically important area contributing significantly to global economic stability, rich in natural resources and is home to more than half of the world’s population.

    The Mizoram Governor also stressed the need for adopting advanced next-generation GeoIntelligence tools such as AI, Machine Learning and Spatial Computing to ensure regional stability and security. He urged stakeholders in the region to collaborate and take proactive measures to address emerging challenges in the region effectively.

    During the inauguration ceremony, Lt Gen AKS Chandele, PVSM, AVSM (Retd), President – Defence, Internal Security & Public Safety, Geospatial World, delivered a welcome address. Other key speakers included Lt Gen Vinod G Khandare, PVSM, AVSM, SM, Principal Advisor, Ministry of Defence; Shri Adam Reedy, International Government Sales Manager, Esri and Vice Admiral Tarun Sobti, AVSM, VSM, Deputy Chief of Naval Staff, Indian Navy. Shri Sanjay Kumar, Founder & CEO of Geospatial World, delivered a vote of thanks, marking the conclusion of the inaugural session. The Governor also inaugurated the exhibition organized as part of the event.

    The Indo Pacific GeoIntelligence Forum is a dedicated defence technology conclave to address regional dynamics, climate-driven instability and technological disruptions. This year’s theme, ‘NextGen Sovereign GeoIntelligence Assets for Regional Security’ will guide discussions throughout the event, which will continue until tomorrow. The forum will also feature specialized sessions by experts on various aspects of defense technology and intelligence applications.
