Mizoram Governor graces the Hornbill Festival Silver Jubilee Celebration
Aizawl, 6th November 2024: As invited by the Nagaland Governor Shri La Ganesan, Mizoram Governor Dr. Hari Babu Kambhampati attended and graced the celebration of Hornbill Festival’s vibrant 25-year milestone held at the Naga Heritage Village, Kisama in Kohima District, Nagaland as an Honoured Guest, today.
At this event on the 6th day of Hornbill Festival celebration, various tribes from within Nagaland State and special invitees from neighboring states showcased their cultural heritage, displaying traditional dances, attire and lifestyles. Nagaland Legislative Assembly Speaker, Mr. Sharingain Longkumer was the host whereas Mr. A. Pangjung Jamir, MLA & Advisor for Fisheries and Aquatic Resources was the co-host.
The Hornbill Festival is organized by the Nagaland Government’s Department of State Tourism and the Department of Art & Culture, showcasing the traditional and diverse culture, customs and vibrant life of Nagaland. It has been held annually since December 1, 2000. The 10-day long silver jubilee edition of Hornbill Festival began on December 1, 2024 at the picturesque Naga Heritage Village, Kisama, 12 km from Nagaland capital city Kohima.
The Governor of Mizoram also visited the 2nd World War Museum and Kohima War Cemetery, this afternoon.
