Mizoram Governor Serves as Reviewing Officer at NDA Passing Out Parade

Aizawl, the 30th May, 2025: Mizoram Governor, General (Dr) Vijay Kumar Singh, PVSM, AVSM, YSM (Retd), served as the Reviewing Officer at the Passing Out Parade of the National Defence Academy (NDA) held today at Khetarpal Parade Ground in NDA Khadakwasla, Maharashtra.
In his address as Reviewing Officer, the Governor of Mizoram, General (Dr) Vijay Kumar Singh (Retd), expressed deep appreciation for all cadets graduating from NDA Khadakwasla. He highlighted the historic significance of the first-ever batch of female cadets graduating from the academy, calling it a remarkable milestone in the institution’s legacy. He reiterated that their participation represents a powerful symbol of societal progress and the advancement of women in national service. He also described the graduating women cadets as a true embodiment of ‘Naari Shakti’ and a visible sign of the growing leadership roles women are taking on in the defence forces. The Governor expressed confidence that many among them would go on to achieve the highest distinctions in their respective service careers. He also extended his best wishes to all cadets for their future endeavours.
The Passing Out Parade was conducted with precision under the command of Adjutant Lt Col Praveen Kumar Tiwari with Academy Cadet Captain Udayveer Singh Negi of ‘G’ Squadron serving as the Parade Commander. Outstanding cadets were recognized during the event. President’s Gold Medal was awarded to Bn Cadet Adjutant Prince Raj, President’s Silver Medal to Academy Cadet Captain Udayveer Singh Negi, President’s Bronze Medal to Bn Cadet Captain Tejas Bhatt and Chiefs of Staff Banner was awarded to Golf Squadron for overall excellence.
The parade marked the commissioning of cadets from the 148th Course – Spring Term 2025, including 17 female cadets, the first batch of women to graduate from the NDA. A total of 336 cadets passed out during the ceremony, contributing to a parade contingent of 1,351 cadets.
The ceremony was attended by cadets’ families, dignitaries, students, civilians and members of the Armed Forces, both serving and retired.
