    Aizawl, the 6th February, 2025: Mizoram Governor Gen (Dr) Vijay Kumar Singh, PVSM, AVSM, YSM (Retd) today visited the 23 Sector Assam Rifles Headquarters at Khatla in Aizawl, where he interacted with the AR officers and discussed important issues related to their activities, in a courtesy meeting.

    During his visit, Governor Gen (Dr) Vijay Kumar Singh, PVSM, AVSM, YSM (Retd) lauded Assam Rifles personnel for their unwavering commitment to safeguarding the Indo-Myanmar border and stressed the importance of constant vigilance to ensure national security. He underscored the importance of preventing illegal cross-border activities and urged them to carry out their duties with utmost dedication.

    On his arrival at the Sector Hqrs., the Governor was accorded a guard of honour, and was received by Brig Girish Upadhya, SM, VSM, DIG, HQ 23 Sector Assam Rifles, Aizawl, along with senior officers. A PowerPoint Presentation was given to provide insights into AR’s operations and detailing key challenges in Mizoram.

    The Assam Rifles in Mizoram is entrusted to guard a 510 km stretch of the Indo-Myanmar border. The 23 Sector Assam Rifles Headquarters at Khatla, Aizawl, oversees three battalions. Each battalion operates six Company Operating Bases (COBs), ensuring rigorous surveillance and security along the Indo-Myanmar border.
