Raj Bhavan Mizoram observes Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh Foundation Day
Aizawl, the 31st October 2023: Under Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat, Governor Dr Hari Babu Kambhampati hosted the celebration program of Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh Foundation Day 2023 at Durbar Hall, Raj Bhavan, today. Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh became a Union Territory of India on 31st October 2019 after the Jammu and Kashmir Reorganization Act was passed.
The delegates from the Union Territories, special invitees and officials participated in the event.
Governor Dr Hari Babu Kambhampati had a short speech on this ocassion wherein he stressed the importance of getting familiar with the culture of other states and union territories for strengthening of national integration to which India commited utmost importance. He lauded the positive impact that the Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat initiative creating since it’s successful implementation and how the initiative creates opportunities for many people to visit and see other parts of India. Governor also interacted with the delegates from Ladakh who shared their experiences during their visit to Mizoram.
The celebration program commenced with a brief introduction into UT of Ladakh by Miss Tsewang Dolma. Cultural troupes from Ladakh and Mizoram performed and showcased special items at the event.
